The children of Laurits Pederson (Risa) from Stavanger, come to USA in 1910 - 1912:
Laurits was born on Storhaug on Risa 3 in 1844, and settled down in Stavanger
in 1875, where he married Elen Marie Larsdatter. His grandparents were farmers on Risa 3, see
no. 4.
Laurits had an uncle Tore Larsson
b. 1824, who went to USA 1853, see Chapt. 1. He used
the name Thomas Larson in USA. He is buried in the Stavanger Cemetery in Illinois,
near the Fox River Valley where Cleng Peerson's group settled down in 1834.

Henrik Emil (H.Emil)
was the first who immigrated to the USA in 1910, working on the boats to pay
for his passage, only 16 years of age. In USA he changed his last name to
Peterson. His mother was a widow at that time. When she died a year after, Henrik arranged for ticket and work for his 3 sisters to
join him in USA. They settled in the Le Roy and Spring Valley areas of
Minnesota. They worked in hotels and for families to earn their way. They all
became farmers afterwards. Henrik served in the first
World War in France. They lost all contact with the remaining relatives in
Norway.

In 1995 Don and Carol + Les and Shirley + Ray and Pat went to Stavanger, Norway to look up relatives. Don and Carol had also been in Norway in 1993, and found the family home at Kirkebakken 20 in Stavanger. In 1995 they all look into this home. They also visited the Risa 3 farm at Rennesøy (Anders and Grethe + Liv Håvarstein + Leiv and Jørgi). They also met Nils Kjetil Hidle who later visited them in USA in 1995, and sometimes after that.
